The Roomba vacuum cleaner has been around for a few years, first being released by the iRobot company in 2002. Updates to the machine have consequently meant newer models being released in the following years. Roomba vacuums are possible the most popular robotic vacuum cleaners, with millions being sold across the country.
All About the Roomba Vacuum Cleaner
The Roomba is a 13-inch diameter disc that is less than 4 inches in height. The vacuum has a handle on top so that it can be easily carried from room to room, and a large bumper that senses contact at the front.
When the Roomba vacuum cleaner was first released the user had to input size dimensions before use. However, newer models no longer need this information. As a cordless vacuum cleaner it obviously needs recharging from time to time using a wall socket. One neat feature of some of the latest Roomba vacuum cleaners is the inclusion of a home base which the device will automatically find to recharge itself!
The Roomba vacuum cleaner is a pretty impressive machine. The contact bumper can detect bumping into furniture or walls, and virtual walls can be set up to limit the vacuum to your desired area. 4 infrared sensors on the bottom of the Roomba also stop the machine from falling down steps or off ledges.
When the vacuum starts to sing it will return to its base. You simply remove the dust bin from the rear of the machine to clean it out, and replace to send on its way again if needed. Although these vacuums may not be the good enough to replace a regular vacuum cleaner on some surfaces, they can be useful for cleaning in hard to reach places like under beds. Furthermore, the vacuuming needs no effort on your part. Simply switch the Roomba on and let it run.
